Soup to Nuts was established in Crivitz, Wisconsin in 2003. It is an interesting combination of gift shop, restaurant and an old fashioned Soda Fountain. When you leave, it is our hope that you have a smile on your face and the desire to come back for another visit soon. Crivitz is a small town in northeast Wisconsin. Its economy is based on tourism with pristine forests, crystal clear rivers, and many waterfalls. The downtown area is not very large, encompassing only about 12 square blocks. This is where you’ll find Soup to Nuts. The area abounds in unique and interesting shops, so your stop can include lunch and an afternoon of shopping, topped off with ice cream for dessert. The building that is now Soup to Nuts was actually built in the early 50’s as the Crivitz Rexall Drug Store, complete with a counter and stools, and the soda fountain where you could get malts, sundaes, ice cream sodas and phosphates. In February of 2003 Soup to Nuts was born. At this point, the building was more than 50 years old and was not necessarily kept in the best of repair. The owner spent the next thirteen weeks gutting the interior of the building and putting it back together with a mix of light, bright, garden and retro décor. All equipment and mechanical systems were replaced. Of course, the Soda Fountain, counter and stools remained as original equipment. Like any business, Soup to Nuts has evolved over the thirteen years of its existence, but some things will remain a constant. They are known for their ice cream treats, starting with the best ice cream available. They use Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream, which is a rich, creamy, old fashioned super premium ice cream. This award winning ice cream is served in glass, not paper or plastic, just like in the fifty\\\\\\\'s. When you order a shake or malt, you also get the leftovers in the metal canister, for those of you who remember the old days. They are famous for their turtle sundaes, which always get oohs and aahs from their customers. Over the years the creativity of the owners has come up with strawberry cheesecake sundaes, peanut butter and jelly sundaes, German chocolate cake sundaes, and dreamsicle ice cream sodas. They typically carry over 25 flavors at any given time.Even though the owners never did much cooking prior to buying a restaurant they get rave reviews making them the #1 rated restaurant of the 33 restaurants in the area. All the cooking is done out in the open at the grill, so everyone in the restaurant can watch and enjoy the show. They are a full service restaurant featuring over 60 food items, ranging from burgers and sandwiches to salads, wraps, and all day breakfasts. The soups, rolls and pies are all homemade, as well as the chicken salad, egg salad, and tuna salad. One of their famous signature sandwiches from the 40\\\\\\\'s and 50\\\\\\\'s, is the \\\\\\\"nutty olive and cream cheese sandwich\\\\\\\", which is exactly what the name implies. While they have some old time \\\\\\\"malt shop\\\\\\\" favorites like burgers and fries (oven baked - nothing is deep fried there) they also have menu items that accommodate health conscious and vegetarian tastes, like black bean burgers and raw veggie sandwiches.Soup to Nuts is also known for their Dinner Shows, which are presented four to five times a year, June through September and at Christmas time. Advance tickets are sold for a wonderful Saturday night dinner and dessert, followed by a two hour musical performance. They can seat 50 to 60 people for each performance and have never had anyone leave hungry or disappointed. That\'s why they have sold out every performance. They also host parties for various groups on other occasions.The gift shop has evolved over the thirteen years they have been in business. They carry garden decor, silk flowers, sometimes outdoor furniture, yard stakes, stepping stones and mail box covers to name a few. There is also some jewelry, greeting cards, t-shirts, sweats, kids games and toys, stuffed animals, puzzles, candies and various souvenirs. A large section of the gift shop is occupied with kitchen gadgets, including Zyliss and Nordicware brands, plus bake ware, recipe cards, chipotle sauces and other gourmet food items. There are grilling goodies, pizza stones, thermometers, and other fun things too. Just think of it. Live, work and play where everyone else spends their weekends or vacation.
