Business Summary:
THE COMPANY
Located off of Highway 93 just west of the Highway 28 intersection, this business has been offering quality and professional car maintenance to the community of Salmon and the Lemhi area for several years. Since purchasing the business in 1994, the owners have more than doubled the size of the building to now include two fast lube bays with 4’x16’ pits. The 14’ doors offer adequate height to service motor homes as well as the abundant supply of commercial vehicles and repeat customers. The Touchless Ryoko Car Wash was installed in a new bay in 1996 and offers 24-hour service. In addition, there are two separate bays for the fully commissioned mechanic, one of which is equipped with a new indoor lift. An outdoor lift also exists. The integrated business operates on approximately 27,000 SF with a 3,025 SF shop area.
THE LOCATION
CT Express is located 100 feet off the highway on a large commercial lot with ample room for additional expansion. The company offers professional car care and the touchless car wash is the best in the community. The business is at one of Idaho’s major intersections that enjoys large drive-by tourist traffic. Salmon is located in the middle of the Gem State offering a destination site for Steelhead fishing, trophy elk hunting, Class “5” whitewater excursions on the River of No Return, or the most scenic mountain vistas and mountain lakes in the Frank Church Wilderness Area that can be found anywhere in the World. This primitive area has been host to presidents, celebrities and people from all over the world who have floated the pristine rivers. Salmon is the birthplace of Sacajawea and an important point on the Lewis and Clark Trail. The area has an active golf community and well-maintained greens. Lost Trail Powder is a largely undiscovered ski resort within a short drive, and great snowmobile trails exist.
THE CUSTOMER
CT Express provides a unique and professional service for the Lemhi area by providing honest and timely service. Its customer base is solid and repeats on a steady basis. The owner feels there is a bigger market available by offering more services and being more customer-friendly, but the current operation model works well for the owners, providing positive cash flow. A more motivated owner could expand the hours and be open on Saturday to increase gross sales which would only slightly impact operating costs.
