Business Summary:
This is a life-style, multi-faceted business open from August 1 through December 23 each year. During the season the business is very busy with a constant flow of people and activities. The husband oversees the orchard management during the growing season. The hired man oversees the picking in the fall, while the husband joins the wife inside to help manage the restaurant, bakery and grading segments of the business. The wife manages the sales area and the gift shop business segments, as well as she also does the bookkeeping. During these six months, all divisions are positively contributing to the business performance and are attractions to both regular customers and new visitors.
Then, during the six month off-season, the owners have an opportunity to recharge their batteries, fine tune their business, attend and buy product at various product shows and plan for the next year.
