Business Summary:
The winery is situated on a 22 acre parcel about a half mile to the Delaware Bay (West) and about four miles to the Atlantic Ocean (East). The winery holds a federal bonded permit from the Alcohol & Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (“TTB”) and a plenary license from the NJ Alcohol Beverage Control division (“ABC”). The federal permit authorizes the production and storage of wine while the state license authorizes the sourcing or fruit, distribution, sale to licensed beverage merchants and direct sale to the public. The state license also allows in state and out of state shipping as well as wine placement for retail sale at 15 locations without municipal licenses (A-B-C) in NJ.
The winery produces over 1500 cases across 25 labels including dry whites, dry reds, estate varietals, sweet wines, fruit wines and a port style wine. The owners will train the purchaser in their viticultural practices and their unique techniques and styles of winemaking. This training will take place during the 4-6 month period in which the purchaser applies to the TTB and ABC for a background check (includes electronic finger-printing). Upon approval by the TTB and ABC to admit the purchaser onto the licenses, alter the farming practices, production system, wine-making style etc. Based upon his/her own preferences, skills and artistic talent. If the purchaser desires the continued participation or access to one or more of the current partners, then a flexible fee based on arrangement can be negotiated and included in the Sale Agreement.
